Boko Haram: Police Release Funds For Burial Of Slain Officers In Yobe
Yobe State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has asked family members of police officers who died in a face-off with Boko Haram terrorist to come for the deceased burial expenses.
A statement released on Tuesday, January 12 by the force through the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Dungus, said the police authority has released burial expenses for the officers who died between the year 2013 and 2014 while serving the nation.
Dungus said the affected families are to report to the Mechanized Salary Section (MSS) Damaturu, for verification and payment while next of kin are to come along with all relevant documents.
The force regrets that the process of the payment took so long, it however enjoins the families to be understanding.
Naija News understands that many officers of the force including officials of other security agencies had died in the war against insurgency in the northern part of the country in recent years.
