Passengers and airport personnel were plunged into a state of fear as a fire outbreak occurred within the international wing of Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
Early reports received by Xtreem Communications indicated that the blaze originated in certain sections of the primary gateway airport while staff were engaged in their daily activities, and passengers were waiting nearby.
While authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the incident, initial information suggests that the fire was sparked by a faulty cable located on the tarmac.
It has been alleged that the flames severely affected a portion of the administrative office belonging to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) on the previous night.
A source, as reported by Tribune, disclosed, “All passengers and staff were directed to vacate the premises, and the Lagos State Fire Service was called in to assist the efforts of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).”
